The Archaeological Society Inaugural lecture 2013



The Archaeological Society is proud to present its inaugural lecture which will take place on
Thursday, November 14th

It will be given by Professor Paul Pettitt from Durham university and is entitled

"The emergence of cave art in Palaeolithic Europe: new research, new hypotheses".


This exciting talk will take place in theatre 1 in the Newman building between 6 and 8pm and will be following by a wine reception in the New Student Centre. This will start at around 8pm and will be located on the mezzanine floor of the Student Centre. It will go on until 10pm, after which everyone is welcome to join the Society committee in town for drinks in the Globe, around the corner from Dublin Castle.

Summary of the evening:

  • Inaugural lecture: 6-8pm. Theatre 1, Newman building.
  • Wine reception: 8-10pm. New Student Centre. Mezzanine Floor.
  • Drinks in town. The Globe. 10pm onwards.
